Downtime

Life in kindergarden is busy. You have no idea how complicated that story about the gingerbread man can get.

Trip to the Christmas tree truck

Even though we enjoy our annual trip to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our tree, it just wasn't going to happen this year.  Mama was on call this week, Daddy has graduation next week, and it's below zero anyway.  So we paid a visit to the friendly guy selling Christmas trees out of the back of a pickup truck by the dog park.

We picked out a great one and walked home with it.  Round trip it took less time than it would have taken us to buckle into the car to get to the Christmas tree farm.

Hanukkah party at KAM

Rabbi Reeves led us in a rousing rendition of the Latke Song after the children did dreidel songs.

Then it was time to eat!

John and Maura would not sit still together and smile, but they both had great crowns.

Julia's Thanksgiving

That's right.  Her Mommy, her Daddy, her Anna, and her bed.
We've all had days like that.

Inclusiveness

It was very, very important to us that every member of our family be documented.

Family talents

We may not have a lot of natural talents, as a family group.  But we are definitely going to take credit for our skills in timer portrait photography.  No outtakes, here.  This was all the snaps we took!

Tomato sirens

It was a stroke of luck that Julia insisted that we have a fire drill this very morning.  We were thus prepared, disaster-wise, when the tornado sirens went off right after lunch.

Forty-five minutes and no tornados later, we emerged from the basement.  For our parents, the most harrowing part of the experience was listening to the girls discuss the lockdown drills they have at school.

Sick days

Somewhere in this huddle heap of blankeys

is a boy with a gastrointestinal virus.
