Weekend at the lake

We went to Grand Rapids to make sure grandma was okay without us (yes), but it turned out to be a lovely weekend to be at the lake.
Aunt Karen just put her boat in and we took a spin!

Grandma Linda may be temporarily laid up, but rest assured she is not shirking her grandmother duties.

Around the campfire

Shower

We got all dressed up to be helpers at Aunt Kate's shower.
Two lovely girls and two puppy purses!

Overland Park arboretum

We had a long nature walk on a windy chilly Kansas day.
We do love a nature walk.

Soccer players

We were all trounced in the first week of games, but a good time was had by all.

As one does.

My boys, on top of Kansas City

Independence, Missouri

We didn't plan to spend all our time in Independence, MO at another depot.  But this one was so interesting and so well-guided that we did.
And then we headed back off into the sunset.
So long, Independence!

Kansas City highlight

Inexplicably, one of the highlights of our trip to Kansas City was seeing the Kansas City Federal Reserve.  We went twice.
No one enjoys federal economic policy quite like my kids.
