Bike ride

While our Mama was away, we went for a lovely bike ride along the river.
John barely made it back to the car, but he managed!

Fire fighters

After two hours of training at Aurora's touch a truck day, we were ready to commence playing fire fighter.

Pumpkin farm

Our Mama did sneak one or two nice pictures out of this beautiful day.

Pumpkin farm!

Above our objections, we were lined up for a photo.

Clearly, we got the upper hand.

Preschool art

Sometimes John's art is suprisingly complex, given the .23 seconds he spends creating it.

Bonfires

We have our own firepit, and we have put it to good use this autumn.

The girls are especially good at stoking a nice fire.  We miss Promontory Point, but we do enjoy a nice backyard fire.

Short break

This was believed to be a different nap.
Note matching Notre Dame shirts.  We're that kind of household.

Trip to the apple farm

In related news, we've been to the apple farm!!  It was the most wonderful crop we've seen in our years.  We picked sixty pounds, and nearly had the place to ourselves.

It was a gala

I give you: John, eating an apple

Deciduous teeth

We are losing teeth at an astonishing rate.

Each girl is down another since this photo was taken.

We've been busy

It's been a busy month of September.

But we're awake now, and ready to resume blogging.

Naperville Fling Mile

We got up a little early with our Mama and our Da, tied our shoes, and pinned on our race bibs for the Fling Mile.  It's a race along the parade route in Naperville.  We were excited to be there; our mama, who ran a half-marathon only 24 hours earlier, not so much.
The two girls led warm ups.

And then we were off!  We had a great race, turning in extremely respectable times.
And then we celebrated like true runners, with water and bananas.  And huge handfuls of candy from the ensuing parade.
