The Chicago Children's Museum is on to us.

I have been under the weather lately. I woke up one morning disinclined to do any more than sit around quietly with my blanket.

As the morning progressed, I felt worse. I curled up with my Da, whether he wanted me there or not.


When he got up to make lunch, I settled for the next best thing: my blanket on the floor.

I feel much better now!

It was a busy weekend.

Yule Log

On Boxing Day, we joined our Da and his friends Jason and Stacey at the Arboretum for a Yule Log Hunt. We had to decipher clues and find a special log!

To be honest, we were unclear why everyone was so worked up about it. Finding a log? At the Arboretum? Not exactly a monumental task. Look, there's one right here.

But we humored our Da and Jason and we all had a nice time running around.

We came close to being the first to find the Yule Log, but were consoled with a crackling fire and cocoa.

We rang in 2012 at Zoo Lights!


We spent several minutes consulting this map of the zoo and directing our Da.

Ultimately it paid off, and we were able to wish the great apes a happy new year!

Trip to Grand Rapids, part 2

We had more great presents at Aunt Karen's house. We even cooperated to get at them!

In no time flat, we had Aunt Karen's nice neat house pretty much wrecked with wrapping paper and bows.

It was a merry trip.
