Village Creamery

Our Grandpa let us in on a little secret when we were visiting last week. It was ice cream!

We made what we feel to be an extremely impressive mess with a single strawberry ice cream cone.

Thanks, Grandpa!

We'll have to do it again soon!

A smile? You'll have to work for it.

I will smile for you, but only as a blur.

Mama wins this round, but I put up a good fight.

Diplomacy

Our Mama thought that this picture of us evoked a certain piece of history.

John looks a lot like Churchill.

Redux

Didn't we already have a discussion about the fact that I already know everything there is to know about everything?

Because I do.

We love our denim hats.

They bring out the best in us!

Summer nostalgia

Back when the weather was warm-- last week or so-- our Gramee came down one Monday and we all went to the beach!
We took a caravan of beach equipment and strollers.

The water was perfect temperature, but the sand was hot.

John slept in his pop up tent like a little angel.

And we played and played and played!

Good thing we went when we did-- it's been chilly ever since!

Third-child syndrome

Sometimes I have to fight to use my own things.

Let's see... that's the lawn mower, the vacuum, and my sisters' two babies between me and my bouncer chair and swing.

Daddy dressed me, too!

In honor of the first Notre Dame game of the season, my Daddy and I put on our ND finest. Go Irish!

Daddy dressed us

We were thrilled to go for a bike ride with our Da. It was a cooler-than-average day, so we dressed in layers. Or rather, our Da dressed us in layers.

That's a print dress, polka dot sweatshirt, leggings, socks and shoes for Julia

And striped dress, polka dot sweatshirt, leggings, socks and shoes for Anna.

Ah... the physics sense of style.

New hat

I got a winter hat as a birthday present from one of my Mama and Daddy's friends.

Not sure what winter is, but I'm ready for it!

Method acting

If the neighborhood players were putting on Oliver, Anna is ready to be an orphan.

She is also prepped for "street urchin" or "waif".

While we were napping

Our Mama thought we were being a little too quiet...

Lincoln Park Zoo

Last Monday we dressed in our monkey finest--some of us were happier about it than others--and went to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

John got over his initial fussiness and enjoyed looking at the Farm in the Zoo.

Julia, Anna, and our Mama got to feed a cow!! And then our favorite part: washing hands.

Monkey sizes up monkey:
