The most glamorous couple at tonight's Daddy-Daughter dance. 

Owling, redux

Walking home late one night, we heard the distinctive call of an owl. 

"I see it!" John said, "In that tree." 

We looked and looked, and John pointed it out. 

At the top of an evergreen, looking just like the star on a Christmas tree, an owl turned its head slowly.

We watched it, and listened. Another owl called from our right. As we crept closer, the owl spread its huge wings and took off, soaring into the dark night. 

 Big deal, said A. Can we go?
