Chillin'

Waiting for the parade

Aurora's first ever Pride parade was this weekend. We imported our own shade, made some new flags, packed some sandwiches, and enjoyed a roasting hot hour of floats, marchers, and even a band.

Red Rock Canyon

Having climbed to a shady overhang high in the hills, the children set to playing, and Joe and I found a cozy rock to stretch out on and fell right to sleep.

Mojave hike

In 2004, Joe and I hiked what existed of this railroad trail from the Lake Mead visitor center. A nice couple of Mojave miles. In 2010 we learned it goes all the way to the Hoover dam, a nice walk in April. Yesterday, with temps around 105, it wasn't as pleasant for an 8 mile desert hike.
