After seeing this, we were compelled to buy a book about whales to learn more about them.  They are amazing!

 

Wildlife: Seward and Resurrection Bay

We went on an awesome boat tour of the sea near Seward.  We have never seen the kinds of things like they have in the water there.  Orcas and humpbacks!  Porpoises!  Sealions!

 And the most adorable little otters that made us think of our John.

Nenana River

Wildlife: Denali edition

Take the big green bus to where all the animal action is.

Alpine trail

We went to Denali and took a long bus ride to hike a trail.  

We climbed and climbed and finally reached the top, just in time for a great big huge cloud to roll in.  

 

 We had a great time playing in the cloud at the top of the mountain!  It was cool and windy and a little scary, but mostly it was misty and fun.  And then it was time to climb back down in the fog.  

 Even though we are children of the midwest, we are really good mountain climbers!

We are sisters.  And we are also best friends.

Gone north

We have been to Alaska.

 And I have been to Aunt Karen's house to play with her and Grandma all week.  

A good time was had by all.

John browsed and moseyed around the hardware section of Sears like an experienced pro. 

Air compressors? Let me check the specs.

Vice grips.  I need several.   

Wrenches.   So very many wrenches.  For all my turning needs.

I'll just pop the lid on these tool boxes to figure out which ones will meet my needs best. 

This will help me accomplish my summertime goal of "doing some hammering".
