I don't know what is taking everyone so long.  Places are set and there's food on.  Let's eat!

Eventually our Mama insisted that we eat breakfast.

Are we looking a little sleepy there?  It was a long night for some of us.

After Santa's arrival, Mama and Daddy made it downstairs to make coffee before the children got out of bed!

Christmas Eve at our house

After dinner we hung our stockings on the wall (with care, by standing on the couch and jumping)

Then we picked out a little plate of cookies for Santa.  Luckily, we had made a few sugar cookies and a few buckeyes earlier in the week, so we were ready for this part.

There was modest debate about whether to leave the cookies in the kitchen or move them to the living room.  We decided to put them near the stockings. 

And, to be cautious, we jotted a quick note to Santa to explain he could feel free to eat the cookies.


Thus prepared, we put on our Christmas jammies and went to bed!

It was delicious.  Eventually.
