When our Grandma and our Uncle Steve were here this week, we got a head start on our pumpkin decorating!
We gutted one pumpkin for our Da to carve.
And then got to work painting a few more little pumpkins.
Uncle Steve was a mentor and muse for Anna.

Pumpkin farm
On our way home from the Dells, we stopped at the pumpkin farm!
Girl sizes up sheep.
Anna's favorite part was gravel.
We played and played on this train. Pumpkin-eating dino? What pumpkin eating dino? There's a toy train here!
We admit we were just family-activitied-out. Even our pigtails were ready for nap.

Trip to the Dells: the Duck Tour
Our Mama and Daddy signed us up for an hour long duck tour-- part on land, part in the water. We were so excited!
Well, some of us were excited.
We zipped along the banks of the Wisconsin River, then waded in and had a nice relaxing tour. Just as we were about to exit onto the shore, we got stuck in a sandbank! Fortunately, the driver was able to radio another duck. It pulled alongside, and we all transferred over, only to find that it, too, was stuck on the sandbar!! Finally, a third duck came and we finished our tour in that one, leaving the two stranded ducks behind.
By then we were antsy and crabby, but our Mama and Da had a nice time. It was beautiful out on the river.

Trip to the Dells: the Lodge
We stayed at a hotel that caters to kids like us: wild, active, running kids. To keep noise levels at a maximum, they encouraged us to put on our jams and run around the hotel. We were happy to do so, as it gave us a chance to show off our new Elmo slippers (Eh-mo yip-pahs).
The Lodge was honoring Halloween with a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt. We got candy, but we also got these great fairy wands.
Our parents were adamant that we not take nature advice from the Lodge, though.

Trip to the Dells: culinary highlights
We had some very fun meals in the Dells. It's hard to go wrong with a restaurant called Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty, but we were impressed by how tasty the food was.
We had lunch one day at a restaurant where our food was served by a train! We were so taken with that train.
It's hard to get back to eating at the table.

Trip to the Dells: the Waterpark
We recently made our first trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Our Mama has spent much time observing us in the bathtub, and she thought we would enjoy spending time at the indoor waterpark.
She was right! There was so much to do that we could have spent a whole day for each room at the park.
We were too little for the big slides, but just the right size for playing in the splash areas.
John hung out in his little swimming suit, and he took his turns getting rained on and sitting in the wading pool.
Even our Daddy got in on the action!
