Christmas Eve

We went to our Aunt Sis's for dinner on Christmas Eve. Naturally, we were adorable in our Christmas best. We stayed up later than we ever have, but we were very well-behaved in spite.

Pre-Christmas festivities

We've been busy in the last couple of weeks, getting ready for Christmas. We are still unclear on the concept, but our Mama is very interested in making sure we are fully prepared with Christmas cheer.

We made a gingerbread house last week. Mama put the walls and roof up, and then we got to decorate!

We encounter our first M and Ms. They are delightful!

Our Mama calls it the Gingerbread House of Ill Repute.

We have also had a few inches of snowfall this week. We put on our hats, mitts, boots, snowpants, and coats and went for a slow, awkward toddle in the snow.

It was fun, but we are ready for springtime already.

Finally, we went to zoo lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo on Tuesday. The whole zoo was open, monkeys and all. We had a nice time wandering around in our stroller. We had a nice picnic in the Cafe and then out to see all 2 million Christmas lights.

Our Mama thinks we have been adequately prepped with the Christmas spirit. Let the holiday come!

Real highlights of Chrismtas shopping

The parts of shopping we did enjoy included lunch at the Christkindlmarkt (we do enjoy bratwurst and saurkraut).

And, overwhelmingly our favorite, the bus ride to and from downtown.

Christmas shopping!

We love shopping of all kinds, and we were especially enthusiastic to go downtown and go Christmas shopping at Macy's.

Our Daddy was jealous he couldn't nap.

Generally goofy

We are the queens of foiling our Mama's attempts to take adorable pictures of us.

Sometimes we let her get one really cute one, though.

Trip to the Christmas tree farm

While our Grandma Linda was here last week, we all went out to the Christmas tree farm.

Our Mama is pretty sure that neither one of us smiled the entire time we were there. We have had more enjoyable day trips, honestly.

Downtime with the girls

There's nothing like settling down with a good read...

for those of us who read medical journals while wearing pajamas and a winter hat, sitting on the floor on a beach towel.

My sister (this is true) is reading one of our Da's physics journals.

Playing on Thanksgiving

We had a great time playing at Karen's on Thanksgiving. There was lots of opportunity to pounce on our Daddy. Here's us with our Mama, doing a double attack.

Karen has the most amazing see-through table. With one on top and one beneath, we can see our sister in a whole new light!

Thanksgiving

We took a trip to Grand Rapids for Thanksgiving. We put on our turkey shirts and had a very nice visit with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve, Aunt Kate, and Aunt Karen. There was plenty of eating and lots of good playing. We are finally not quite so afraid of Grandma and Grandpa... turns out they are really only interested in playing with us, and we can live with that!

Thanks to Grandma Linda for sharing these pictures!

Sunday mornings, continued

After we are done with the newspaper, our Mama checks her email. This morning, while whining that we wanted to help her, we discovered that the camera on the computer takes still pictures! So even though our Daddy is in Michigan this weekend, we can still bring you this up-to-the-minute image of our Sunday mornings at home.

No pictures, please

What, can't a girl haul a monkey around in a bucket anymore?
